Financial Assistance

At ST Stead  we understand that it can be difficult for some animal owners to meet the bill for the health care of their beloved pet - what ever pet you own from a  cat, dog, kittens, puppies, or  any other animal, remember we care as much as you for their welfare. For this reason, ST Stead Veterinary Clinic is a member of several schemes, which aim to help people on low incomes to afford the care that their pets need and deserve. Please find information  and advice about our vet fees financial assistance scheme below.

The Schemes We Offer Are:

  • PDSA Pet Aid Scheme
  • The Dogs Trust neuter vouchers
  • Cats Protection neuter vouchers

Further information about these schemes, and how they can assist you and your pet can be found below.

PDSA Pet Aid Scheme

ST Stead vet surgeon in York, Yorkshire is a member of the PDSA -Pet aid scheme, a charitable organisation which was set up over 90 years ago to dispense veterinary treatment to people's sick animals.

Treatment to the sick and injured pet of an eligible client is completely free of charge. But because PDSA's vet services are funded entirely by public support, all owners are encouraged to make a contribution towards the cost of their pet's treatment, in order to enable PDSA to continue its valuable rescue service.

Help where it's needed most

Despite the tremendous public support PDSA receives, it simply does not have the funds to treat all sick and injured animals. Therefore, PDSA's precious resources are concentrated on those animals whose owners are the most in need in the community.
